Where are you from and how did you get started?
I got into music when I was 6 and started playing the piano and studied piano until 19 when I got my masters in piano performance. I started songwriting around 16. I thought I would be a classical pianist and found out I love song writing. Most of the time I write by the piano even if it may not end up in the production.
How do you manage your self-care as an artist?
Well the first thing i would say is i try not compare myself to other artists even though it can be tough especially with social media and the access to everyone. At the end of the day I remind myself that there is no one like me. Then organization. Keeping myself organized and planning - staying on track, writing down things throughout the day helps me accomplish more throughout the day. I try to cook for myself too. I try to be healthy. I have my ups and downs of course but I put in the effort.
Do you have new releases or upcoming shows you would like to share?
I DO HAVE a single coming up on Sept 21st. It's a song I was asked to write for songs for world peace- this is a production of artists from all over the world who were asked to write songs on the topic of world peace. - The organization / initiative supported by UN women musicians without borders - I will be representing Malta within this project.
What is challenging with wellness and/ or mental health as a musical artist?
Always comparing yourself to someone else can be detrimental but apart from that financial can be hard I have to find ways to earn money to support music and that can be 1 -2 jobs and can take away time creating my music. Tell us about your mission as an artist! My mission is to make music that I am happy with and that I am proud of and to make music that makes me feel something and that people would resonate with and something for.
