CARSON ADAY'S PLACE IN THE WORLD

Introducing Carson Aday... Please share a story that includes a happy memory as an artist and has made a huge impact on your artistry. Last summer I had the opportunity to play a private house show before leaving for college. It was over 100° that day, and yet over a hundred people crammed into my backyard to hear my music. Energy was through the roof with both the band and the audience. We got some great pictures of guitars covered in sweat and blood, and even people jumping into the pool after our set! It was a great night. How do you choose to lead a Happy Healthy life as an artist? Being happy requires humility. We HAVE to have an understanding of our place in the world if we want to be content with where we are! If you think you deserve the world, you’ll be quite disappointed when you don’t obtain it. I’m happy to be able to pursue my passion and have it be recognized by people I love. Who did you learn from to instill those values? Definitely Jesus. My faith has been the centerpiece of my life for the past 8 years, and I’ve truly found so much wisdom and joy in studying the Bible. God has been so generous to me through my parents, friends, and talents. Was it hard work to make sure that you focused on your well being and not only your art? I didn’t understand the value of mental health until recently. I tend to be a workaholic, and balance is difficult for me. I have to be very intentional about rest, and knowing that taking a break can be extremely productive. Was there a turning point of how you decided to put yourself first? Quite the opposite. I’ve found that when I feel the most healthy is when I’m giving back to friends and family. The best way you can feel loved is by loving others. How do you like to promote a healthy lifestyle? I’m always advocating for discipline and wisdom in routine. Though I’m far from perfect at it, a good morning routine is essential in me feeling healthy. Finding a way to feed your mind, body, and soul every day is important! In what ways are you connecting with fans to check in on each other? Some of my biggest fans are my closest friends. Vulnerability and honesty and super important in a relationship, and that’s something I’m intentional about exercising. Who checks in on YOU when you need it most? God, my parents, mentors, and friends are all there for me when I need them. It’s important to have a circle of people you can rely on! Changing habits can be hard. Which was the habit that you had to change and how it's changed your life now? For years I attempted to fight depression by pretending it wasn’t there. Society told me that I needed to be happy, and that I didn’t have a reason to be depressed because I lived a good life. I didn’t understand that I had a clinical issue. After seeking therapy I changed my reaction to depression, learning that you need to accept your feelings before you can hope to move past them. Is there a song, book, movie, show or anything that always gives you the motivation you need? There are a million songs that I turn to for enjoyment. One of my favorites is “Call it fate, Call it Karma” by The Strokes. Give it a listen! What is the mantra of 2022?! Discipline. I’m aiming to grow self control and discipline through routine. Give all the inside scoop of your latest project! My debut album, Midnight on a Flower Moon, is a cohesive album of conversations with a girlfriend, an ex best friend, and a therapist. From singer/songwriter to alternative rock, I cover a lot of different sounds with guitars and piano. I’m really proud of this album and have been so grateful for the support it’s received.
